Sliding tripod block of which camera?

I bought this sliding tripod block and thought it could fit to my 8x10 Eastman View 2. But today when I try to put it on a Kodak 2D 8x10, it cant fit! My Eastman View 2 haven't arrived yet, so my questions are:

    1. Do the Kodak 2D and the Kodak View 2 have similar dimensions?
    2. Which camera does it fit? It is 8 4/5" wide, and the distance from groove to groove of the rail of the camera is 8 1/2".

    Thank you for your help.

It may be for a 5x7 Eastman View #2/2D and not 8x10.

The each have different size rails and hence different size sliding block.

Maybe whole plate? Here's a pic of the sliding block from my Eastman Century #2 5x7 and it's quite a bit smaller.

In my experience, the Kodak View No. 2 8x10 rail is slightly narrower in width than the Kodak 2D 8x10 rail. The lighter finish on your block is also a clue.

My friend has a Eastman View 2 5x7. I've asked him and he said it's larger than a sliding of a 5x7 camera.
Yes, maybe for a full plate? Or another 8x10 such as Gundlach,...?

Yes, look at the brass and the wood of this block, I think it's for a Kodak camera.
If it cant fit to my Eastman View 2, I will modify it to fit.

My 5x7 2D rails are 6 5/8 wide .... my Eastman #1 View Camera, whole plate measures 6 3/4. The sliding block on the 5x7 measures the same as the rails so the sliding block (that I don't have) for the whole plate is probably 6 3/4.... I would assume the block on the 2D is wider than the #1 so we know at least it's NOT a #1 block. AND yes I'm looking for one for the #1 and a rear extension if anyone has them.... Bill

I have a loose one that looks very similar to yours, but just slightly smaller...it measures; 8 5/8" (outside of rails) and 8 1/8" (between the rails). It is about 1/8 too wide to fit on my Kodak Empire View (No. 1) 11x14. Its rail is 8 1/4" wide and between the rails should be a little over 8" (and tighten to 8" or slightly under).

An update on my sliding block. It goes to my Kodak 2D. I thought I had tried it on there before, but I guess not -- or not properly.
