    Portfolio Binders?

I am putting together a professional portfolio book for my gallery and to show clients. I am having trouble finding a nice book to use that will hold 11x14 inch pages. I have a strong aversion to the clear pages, as I don't want my work viewed through them. I greatly appreciate any leads at all.

    Thanks- Jon

The problem in "off-the-shelf" books seems to be the size. Most photo albums I have seen are too small. The large albums are more like newspaper size.

Light Impressions has several items, if you would care to look around in their site. Here is one which meets all your criteria (including archival) except for the plastic. Perhaps you could modify it somehow:

If you don't mind loose prints, these Folio Folders from light impressions are real nice.

Do a search online - skim a Photo District News - there are a lot of custom portfolio makers with far better pages and materials than Slight Depressions. House of Portfolios, Brewer and Cantemello, etc. do the nicest leather bound books for the big guns like Irving Penn, etc.

They make clear pages from a variety of materials - none are perfect - you have to experiment and then buy extras so you replace the pages as they get used. There is no "perfect" clear page.

I really like the Prat ones. They're made in France. The leather ones are great, not pretentious, just quality.

THe Crystal sleeves are also very good.

    Prices aren't too bad either.

I get my stuff at Vistek in Toronto ....
