Canham MQC and 47mm XL lens?

Has anyone with a Canham MQC and the 4x5 reducing back used a Schneider SA 47mm XL lens? Supposedly the min extension is 53mm and Schneider's page say the flange focal length of the lens is 59mm. So it might even work on a flat lens board.

Re: Canham MQC and 47mm XL lens?

The shortest lens I used on my Canham MQC57, with a 4x5 reducing back, is a 65. That lens required a recessed lens board in order to focus it at infinity with the standard bellows. Bellows compression limited the amount of movement. However, I don't believe that a 47 can be used with the standard bellows.

(Since Canham does not offer a recessed lens board, I found that the Toyo Field recessed lens board also fits the Canham MQC57).

A new Canham bag bellows is a pricey accessory. I no longer use short lenses with my MQC, and would be happy to offer you a good deal on my Canham wide angle bellows.

    Contact me if interested.
