    Tapatalk support

Does the forum now support this iPhone app? I got a notice today when I opened LFPF that it did.

And is Tapatalk worth getting? Does it support all the expected features?

Don't know anything about it but yes it was installed today. This install prior to the overall upgrade the folks are working on off site.
    Thanks,

Thanks Kirk. I saw Tom's separate announcement and I'll give it a try.

    Re: Tapatalk support

If you have an iPhone Tapatalk is wonderful. I do know some people who prefer to just use Safari but I prefer Tapatalk by a wide margin.

I got the pop up, but when I searched within Tapatalk it wasn't found. They probably haven't updated their database yet.

    Re: Tapatalk support

Do you simply download the Tapatalk app for your device ?

Yes, download the app, then search for our forum ( it was found when I looked) to connect.

I've had a chance to play with it a bit. No more constant zooming in and out as with the HTML using Safari, and far easier to proof a post to remove those idiotic Apple replacements. I can't graphically select a smilie, but it's a lot easier to attach a picture (looking at it is another matter). Access to PM is good.

I get a server error when I attempt to access my profile. I rarely do that, though, and can just do it from a regular browser.

The only real issue is with attached photos when viewing posts. The attachment viewer will run several attached photos together, plus it provides unusable zooming and often no way to see an entire photo.

Displayed linked photos are shown as square and not at a scalable size. Clicking the photo acts as a link and takes me to Safari and to whatever hosting site was used for the photo. That means a lot of Flickr crap while it loads many things I don't care to see.

Conclusion: Tapatalk is great for words, but annoying for images.

I just got it for my iPhone. It's dramatically better than using a web browser, dramatically.

I agree with Rick -- great for posts, annoying for images... I'm split on whether it was worth $3 or not. Oh well.

I'm glad the forum supports tapatalk now. It's not perfect, but notably more convenient than a browser in the event that I feel like getting on the forum while still in bed, waiting for the train, etc.
