Well its official-Kodak files for bankruptcy

looks like the pipers pied himself... I know this is Chapter 11(not the dreaded 7), so hopefully they can streamline and realize that the products that built the company into the powerhouse it is(was) really is worth its time and further R+D investment.

Being as EK handed the keys to an asset management company rather than people who know the business, their direction will be based on the opinions of accountants who never leave their office. I see digital photo frames and cheap Chinese crap in the future.
Sarcasm. Frustrating the clueless since 3000 B.C.

They've needed direction, and a vision, for a long long time. Their stock chart shows bad decisions stretching back about 15 years. At some point you stop blaming external forces and get your act together, or bring in someone who can.

An article reprinted from 1983: http://features.blogs.fortune.cnn.co...-fortune-1983/

The writing was on the wall back then. It simply took this long for it to finally materialize.

And a perspective from yesterday on what modern companies need to do these days in respect to the failings of Kodak as a corporation: http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2012/01/...azines_fortune

I really don't understand this attitude. I've seen it expressed elsewhere. I suppose I never will. I don't pay any attention to Kodak's "failings" as expressed by others. I just continue to buy Tmax film and hope to be able to for another 18 months if not longer.
