    Re: Large format assignments?!

    I used a 4x5 Graflex while going to undergraduate college (1966-1970). Made sports photos with it! My eyes & reflexes were much more accurate & quicker then. Every once in a while, I would forget to put the dark slide in before removing the exposed film as I got caught up with the emotions around during a game!

    For my business, I've been 100% digital since 2004. But I'm getting into retirement mode, I will turn 64 in June, where are you Paul when I'm 64!

    Thanks for letting folks sprinkle digital comments here along with our love for film. At APUG that's a no-no and I don't participate anymore.

    My Coach, mentor and friend who I learned to base my photography was Monte Zucker. He's no longer with us and I miss his attitude, business acumen and photography style. My wife and I spent time with him when he lived in Sarasota Florida.

But really, this long slow drawn out process is just the way we have decided to do it, and that is just fine. ...

    hi leigh

    habs=historic american building survey
    haer =historic american engineering record

    it is part of the national parks service .. archived at the library of congress.
    done as part of the section 106 review process which is the historic preservation
    portion of the environmental impact statement ( eis ). if a property, site, structure
    has national significance sometimes the state historic preservation office asks
    for large format black and white negatives, contact prints, copies of historic photographs, blueprints
    measured drawings, and a detailed technical paper explaining the historic significance of the property.

    its one of the oldest running federal programs and was started in the 1930s ..

    That's very interesting, John.

    I'm heavily into industrial archaeology, so this might be an interesting endeavor.

    Thanks very much.

    Yes,

    High level buyers want silver jelly prints to big sizes, I use 10x8" unless there is a wind problem

    Prices are commensurate with neg' size, as they should be - 10x8" go for squillions 5x4" is very well paid, 120 is good money, 35mm becomes free and digital photographers should pay the client
