It's too late, the genie is out of the bottle.

The company is run by morons.

Screen shot from the Kodak website from a few moments ago. Shows T-max 120 size film and indicates "Out of Stock."

Imagine the GOOGLE headquarters if the server was down on Sat morning. Heads would be rolling, people would be scrambling to get back on line, people would be called from home, etc.

Meanwhile at Kodak, there is no T-max 120 in stock. Wouldn't you think any company interested in selling a product would be scrambling to get the machines up and running and filling the stock room.

Sad to see such a great giant move so far from its core competence..

In stock in Europe. I suppose their "web shop" (which only started out some time last year) is a fairly small affair for now - probably not run out of Kodak's own warehouses, but by Amazon, DHL or some other fulfilment service...

All the USA retailers have lots of inventory, too. Plus it's a lot cheaper to NOT use the Kodak store. They sell at high MSRP. I personally don't know anyone who uses the Kodak web store, although I'm sure there are some who do use it.

Because the retail web store lists "out of stock" I don't feel really reflects on Kodak's film production and inventory management as being run by "morons." I'm sure they're providing their higher volume retailers first. And I'm guessing that they are doing a 'JIT' kind of production and running shifts and machinery only as needed, and not just cranking the stuff out and overstocking.

Ahh, but you forget that here at Camp KodakBegone, all the women are nude, all the men are sharper than a 19" RD Artar , and all the photos are above average. Comparatively the rest of the world are Morons. Quod erat demonstrantum.

Someone has listened way too much to the Prarie Home Companion! (I used to listen to it when I lived in St. Paul, before Kiellor got big and famous. "Brought to you by the Dales: Clydesdale, Chip-n-Dale, Airedale, ..." The Dales were big shopping centers around town.)
