Infrared - what really works in LF ?

I'd like to use my 4x5 to shoot some infrared. Am I reduced to R72 or Lee filter and a conventional film like Delta or Neopan, etc ? I'm presuming that infrared film (B&W) is no longer available. What sort of exposure am I dealing with ? Excuse if this subject has been discussed before, but I wasn't able to find the answer. Thanks for your help.

Infrared film from Efke and Rollei is available. It sure isn't HIE but it is more infrared sensitive than normal films. I have some Rollei in the freezer that I plan to try in the spring but others will have to offer specific tips.

Thanks for the input. I was unable to get Efke here in Seattle, so I assumed no one carried...nor have I seen it at B&H. Yes, looking forward to doing some experiments.

Les - I just bought a box of Efke 4X5 and there is plenty to go around before it expires. PM me if you want some. (I'm in Seattle). I got a bunch if IR flashbulbs for my speed graphic so I will be playing Weegee with the stuff.

i shoot efke 820 often in the spring and summer, with the r72 filter i expose it at 3, its the closest thing you will get to the HIE, its a great film, here is an example, no post processing

I use Efke IR 4x5 and 8x10. It's certainly not anything like Kodak's IR film but it's okay. I expose it at EI 1.5 through #87 filter and develop in D-19 1+1.

I feel kind of dumb asking this, but what do you mean when you say you expose it at 3?

I am also looking at shooting this film in the spring and would like to wrap my brain around it before I shoot too many practice sheets.
