    I don't think that is true for most people, at least regards monochrome.

    ...then why bother with the expense of Large Format

    Edgar Praus develops all my film and I highly recommend him (http://www.4photolab.com/index.html).

    For drum scanning and really large prints Lenny Eiger is your man (http://www.eigerphoto.com/index_ep.php).
