I can't tell if it's a carpenter bee, but I get those in my yard. I like them a lot. They're one of the most primitive bees on the evolutionary scale, no social interaction with other carpenter bees beyond mating. Lives of simple solitude...

I never work in factors and such when figuring for bellows extension, I just figure what the f/stop really is. Divide the bellows extension by the aperture diameter. That's it...
