...don't know how to explain the "curling" on the left, it's only present on the two photos from the same double film holder, the other double film holder did not exhibit this behaviour. something to do with the film-film holder combination? for some reason, this film feels very thin and curly.
Theo, I always enjoy your work. Just checked out your website and see you've only been doing this for a few years. Bravo! The "curling" looks like a light leak. That holder made need some work. I love this x-process look and am wondering what lens you used for this image.

I love it just the way it is!
What would it be without the "issue", I don't know but it is great as is.

I took a quick instant of my girlfriend while she prepared dinner to test a flash rig I cobbled together for my converted Polaroid 900 4x5. FP-100C @ 5.6, 1/200 with flash:

Καλημέρα Kerik, thanks for the kind words,

...the lens used for this image is the one I mainly use on the Speed Graphic: Leitz Hektor 150mm/f2.5 projection lens. No aperture, barely covers 4x5. I also got an Aero Ektar 178mm/f2.5 but I still haven't used it much. The Hektor is smaller (thus more portable) and I like the way it "destroys" an image (low resolving power, moderately sharp in the center, soft everywhere else, vignetting corners, etc). Here's an image of it on my old Anniversary, secured on a wooden DIY board with elastic bands - you only see the front element, the whole lens is something like 10cm long.

No need to apologize for stopping down, I think it looks great, and I don't miss the blurred forehead. You could have stopped down a little more to bring the tip of the nose into focus, but I'm not complaining about it, as-is. It's a lovely portrait, and I'll bet even the subject likes it.

I should know this....but.... the half moon in her eyes are from a light positioned where?

From left of and behind the camera?
