Really well done, Alex. Portraits are generally not my thing, but this one works for me. Very haunting.

Stephane, this really works for me. The composition is a little similar to Ansel Adams' "Mrs. Sigmund Stern" and, more closely, his "Magaret Sanger in Her Garden, Tuscon, Arizona".

very sorry for the delay in answering. been away.
some fellow user also asked about the details, so here they are.
The image was scanned and also edited . The blur is the result of a slight front tilt of the 240mm lens, there was a little fan involved and also a 400w light source on the right, slight vignetting is the result of the lens use on 4x5, the rest, darkening, kinda layers were edited.
unfortunetelly, for the time being im not able to produce lf prints, still looking for a proper enlarger, i hope this does not leave you disappointed anyway.

Thanks Peter for taking the time, very informative.

For those who are interested, we are talking about the photograph at the beginning of this thread, second post.

Birthday shot of my son. Nothing earth-shattering, but my little preemie is growing up.

This one is breath taking. Most gorgeous I've seen in a time. The only lens it seems I don't have, is a Kalosat! I think my 18" Gundlach Achromatic Meniscus would come very close though.

Hi Peter. I saw in another thread that Gandofi in Denmark has too many enlargers. Perhaps he would be willing to sell you one, if you are up for a road trip!

I love your work, by the way, and thought that portrait a wonderful way to start the New Year.

    Best, Tim

    and through a plasticca 400/4.

Jim, I believe you got to play with that Kalosat. Dont you also have an 18" PS semi-achromatic and/or Port-Land?
