    Rodenstuck 155 mm Grandagon - N

I've seen a few references (eg. Odyssey Sales, Calumet UK) that this lens is being offered for sale. Has it been re-issued?

When then can we expect the Grandagon 200?

Probably ex rental stock, or cleaning out NOS items from their inventory...

I don't know of, or heard of, any commercial photographers shooting 8x10, much less 4x5 anymore. Samy's here in LA dumped a lot of their rental/NOS film and LF equipment on the market in the past 3 years. Where most if their stores had lots of LF equipment for rental, they now might only have 1 lens like this in their rental catalog now for ALL the stores to share between them.

That 155 sure is sweet though, almost no need for a center filter like the more modern Super Symmar XL line of lenses.

EDIT: Mitch Feinberg is still shooting 8x10 for commercial work

I just looked at the Calumet UK website - that's pretty wild. I'd guess NOS, too, or maybe somebody ordered a special run, as was done with the 300 Apo-Sironar-W a while back.

But did you see the price? Yikes!

Oh, come on, that $6,083.61 probably includes VAT. You'd get nearly 1/5 off for delivery to Richard in Canada or you in MA.

There's a store right here in Toronto that's advertising one as well (for half the Calumet price). I'll check in the morning tomorrow when they open...

It's just the way they (Calumet) put it:

"In stock soon - reserve yours now" that made it seem like more than just a user or rental. That and the very high price more typical of new such lenses...

I'd be interested to know as well. The Calumet website often has anomalies with long discontinued products offered at "modern" (inflation adjusted?) prices.

There are still almost daily commercial shootings of 8x10 E6 in New York. I know this from speaking to the owner of my lab who has several large accounts like this. Without these accounts, E6 processing ability would be as scarce in NYC as it is everywhere else.
