So can I take my 16x20 or not? I can not hike with it more than 500 yards from the car. If yes, Tri may come with his 20x24.
My BMW flies, but Bangkok is not on the menu!
LA Airport is fine!
Let's have some info for the ULF guys. How far does one have to schlepp things? I really would like to do a survey with my Ricoh GXR and my new Globuscope 65mm 4x5 toy! Anyone interested in surveying the place in the second half of January?

I'll get in touch with someone at Oceano and see about carts and etc unless someone else can chime in sooner
Also I'll be @ Camp Pendleton/Oceanside from February 17 to 22 than flying into San Jose for the rest of the time I'll be driving down and if I can accomodate anyone I'll be more than happy to share the ride down so if anyone needs a ride from the Bay Area let me know I'm planning on going down a day early than everyone else!
The idea of having a 16x20 & 20x24 would be so cool please come and I'll get that info asap!
Thanks

Hiking in the sand with ULF is not an option for me. 8x10 is the max.
I agree, even with 8x10 it seems like uphill both ways lugging around in sand. At a minimum 5x7, maximum 8x10.
It's pretty easy if you stay at the Pacific Dunes RV resort... I posted a link earlier.
Everything else is A MAJOR schlepp!
Even with a sand cart...

Here is the view from pretty much the upper most campground at the Pacific Dunes resort....
If it was me? and I was dragging around one of those behemoth cameras, I would rent an RV and have it delivered to the resort and camp pretty much where the dunites once lived.
This shot is with my cell phone camera during the 'soft sand' month of September
