    LAPFE carriers

    I need your expertise and availability.
    I have a Durst 138s and I'm looking for the negative carrier masks LAPFE with the filmholder NEGA 138.
    I can not find them on sale so I decided to build them.
    I need the measurements and photos of LAPFE 6X4.5 6X6 6X7 6X9 4X5"
    If there is any kind person willing to be measured with a caliper measurements of down and upper mask and provide me with the photos.
    Thanks to those who can help me.

    I think I have some LAPFE masks with my MAVERT. I'll check later today and post measurements. Also, if you have the 5x7 glass carrier, you could use that for all formats (thats what I do with my 8x10).

    I have a full set of masks that I am strongly considering selling...I am planning to use a glass carrier the same way ic-racer is doing.

    Thanks ic-racer for your time.
    I just purchased a 138 negative, and should arrive within 10 days.
    I would prefer to print with the masks, because the margins are more accurate.
    I need the external and internal measures, and some special pictures.
    You're very kind

    Hi Michael,
    If you want to sell the masks we can talk!
    Or someone teaches me well to print without masks.
    Michael is my email: autopadovani@gmail.com
    Let me know which LAPFE models you have.
    Thanks

    Re: LAPFE carriers

    I have a Lapfe 450 in my hands. It is two pieces. Both are 1.5mm thick. Width and length are the same on both pieces:
    Width= 130mm
    Length = 180mm

    Top Piece Hole = 96mm x 120mm
    Bottom Piece Hole = 94mm x 117mm

    The holes are perfectly centered on each piece.

    There are 6 registration pins to keep the negative in place.
    The wide two form a 127mm space and the upper and lower four form a space of 101mm to hold the film.

    Thanks ic-racer, I really appreciate your help.
    The 6-pin registration I do not think I will build them.
    Now the important is the internal measures (the external are always the same I think).
    Have you only the 4X5" or you have others?

    Re: LAPFE carriers

    If I were making them I'd make the internal dimensions to match my own film.
    For the registration pins you can pound in some PEM studs from the bottom and cut the studs short. The PEM studs are designed to be flat on the bottom. See here: http://www.pemnet.com/fastening_prod..._and_pins.html

    Mumble...mumble.....(comics teach !), I think what you say is right, considering that the Durst was build smaller sizes of the negative.
