Recessed Lens Board for 90mm SA on Linhof V?

I suspect this question has been asked before but I don't seem to find it. Is a recessed copal 0 Linhof lensboard necessary or even suggested for use with a SK 90mm f8 super angulon lens on a Linhof V?

I'm sure that Bob of HP Marketing will give you the correct answer but on my Master Technika I use the recessed boards for both my 75mm and my 90mm Grandagons. The recessed boards certainly make life a lot easier.

In my experience, no, you do not need a flat board for a 90mm lens. I've used a 90mm f8 Nikkor on a Tech V and now a Tech 2000, both with flat boards. Same with a 75mm Nikkor. If in doubt, by all means try it first on a flat board. If you are contemplating buying the lens & lensboard combo, why not pickup the lens first and try it on one of your "normal" flat boards? (i.e. rob it from your 150mm)

And no, you don't need to drop the bed either.

I use the F5.6 90 mm SA on my Tech V without a recessed lens board. If you don't need one with the F5.6, as you don't, I'd be surprised if you need one for the F8.

I use the 90/8 S.A. on my IV with a flat board, but the end of the bed intrudes just a tiny bit in portrait mode.
