    Re: Harman Direct Positive Images

I've found this thread very helpful. I'm still figuring out HDPP, and am enjoying myself immensely. Both of these were rated at ISO 6, 4" at f/22 with a Fujinon 210mm f/5.6 on a Calumet view camera. Selenium toned, and minor leveling in Photoshop ... the exposures on the originals aren't as good. I'm very grateful for the quick feedback this paper provides, and also for its narrow exposure latitude -- I'm learning how to calculate bellows exposure factors, etc., and it's good to have a narrow exposure target to hit.

I have a 105mm Tominon f/4.5 en route which should get me shorter working distances and closer composition possibilities. Lighting is going to be fun to figure out.

Got some streaks...but I still like it. They're thankfully far less visible on the real thing. Also: scanning is a little frustrating with the gloss.

Preflashed, EI at 3, developed in caffenol for 4:30 and fixed with TF-5.

I like that look quite a lot. How do you do your preflash?

    I copied this method.

I like it because it allows me to set my preflash based on the specific exposure of the scene.

Working on finding portrait subjects. When it works it works well. You either get exposure right or everything is underexposed.
