Newbie question, one sheet in Jobo CPE2+?

    Hi guys,

I'm about to have a crack at developing my own film, for the first time in 11 years!
It will also be my absolute first time using the Jobo CPE2+... and I have a question.

I intend to take a test shot, of my colour chart and process it. I have the 2523 drum and 2509 reel. Is it ok to just process ONE sheet of film? My thought process leads me to believe there should be no problem but I thought best to check here.

If the one sheet comes out looking pretty natural (no severe colour shifts) then I'll do a couple more full tanks of 6 sheets each.

Sorry for what might seem like a really silly question to some

Nevermind I found my answer in a thread on the 2523 tank

For anyone looking around, the instructions with the processing kit should tell you how long to process a single sheet on fresh chemicals.

You can do it but it's a waste of expensive color chemicals since you have to use the same solution volume with one sheet or 6. I suppose it makes sense though if this is your very first time.

OR save the chemicals to develop five more sheets.

    Hi Thrice

If the 2523 tank you're using has the three raised edges running lengthways inside the tank (these are normally used along with some plastic clips to hold paper for print processing) similar to the 2820 Test drum (which I use), you can process one or two sheets of 4x5 film in a minimum of chemicals - around 100 to 200 ml. The film will fit nicely and is easy to fit and remove after processing. Have a look at the Jobo site for the different tanks and accessories.

Like Tony R pointed out, I use a 2820 if I just need to do 1 or 2 sheets of 4x5. I use 78cc volume with that drum for B&W negatives.
