Jonathan,
Aside the usual "I pat your back and you pat mine", the new series (stills + flowers) that you have been posting since your return are an example to follow in terms of creativity and getting fine wine out of lemons.
I can only wish that I would come close to manage as much soon, as with less time in my hands, I am trying to find inspiration without getting into a car and drive around.
Cheers,
luc

Thank you, Luc. I wish I could say there is a formula for seeing things around the house, but I just react to what is around me. It so happens that I made two different casseroles for Easter brunch and left both pans on the counter to dry overnight. When I came in the next day and saw them in daylight, voila! The photo above was the result. Now that I've made this one image--and am awake to the possibilities--I think I'll play around with these pans in different lighting conditions and see what happens.
My ability to be photographically in tune with my surroundings fluctuates, and my "return" comes after a four month period where I made one or two exposures total. I try not to fight it. If those four months off were necessary for me to be making this recent run of images, then so be it.
All the flowers I've photographed recently have been from our yard, but none were planted on purpose. They just sprout up every year like weeds. In the end, I find working within limits suits me. When I take the camera out to a forest, for example, everything looks beautiful and I have no idea where to point the camera. I suppose we each need to play to our strengths.
J.
