    We have a location!

just for the record, those photos look like they were
taken opposite where my uncle lived, a small
cul- de- sac called' Clifton Gardens'
this was off Merryhills Drive in Oakwood, Near to Enfield, Middlesex
Think the lady in the picture was my Aunt, his wife.

Here's more info on the car...

    Hi Ash
an update on the car in the pic.
I have managed to make contact with a chap
who worked with ken many years ago.
He was close to him at the time and has told me the car
in your picture was an Austin A70, which ken had shipped over
from Palestine between 1949 and 1950.when he was sent to film
    out there.
New cars I have been told, around this time had a waiting
    list of about 18 months.
New british cars were available in Palestine, so thats
    wher it came from,
The car cost I believe little under £600.
The Camera was a newman Sinclair, and was used for many years after
    this photo was taken.
and yes I was right the pic was taken in Clifton
    Gardens, off Merryhills Drive, Enfield.
    So that's that then!

    Ash,

When I saw it first, I thought it was an Austin Princess. Austin made these cars with the social standing of a Daimler or Bentley but for a business-man's price.

Does she want the plates back - or, rather, some prints?
