Does anyone know whether the dichromat heads on the 504s are interchangeable without adapters, or modification, etc...? I have an old head and want to put a new one on, but can't try before I buy.

Contact Odyssey Sales, Teamwork in London, or KHB Photografix (http://www.khbphotografix.com/devere/). I think that you can exchange them, but these enlargers were made over a very long time frame.
