Mounting the back of Calumet 45NX

Today when I dissemble this camera(sold it) I found it maybe possible to mount t he back inward, although only allowing vertical format and losing revolving back function, you can use shorter lens. When the back is at normal position I found 90mm is the limit with a standard bellow and a recessed board. Anyone can confi rm this?

Yep it works fine. I do that all the time to do image circle tests with smaller lenses. Depending on rear lense extension you can get very close to the ground glass! Not very handy but it works. Yes, vertical only. Jim

In normal position the part that controls the tilt faces toward you. If you detach the bellow, take off the revolving assembly, take the rear standard out of the rail and turn it around(180 degree), remount it, re-attach the bellow, revolving back(vertically only), now you have the back standard face toward front(or inward) and you can still take picture in vertical format.

Actually with the 5x7, and 4x5 you don't even have to slide the carriage off the rail, just loosen the swings set, slide it back for enough clearance, and spin 180 degrees. With 8x10 you have to reverse the carriage on the rail.

Mr Galli, you're absolutely right. My method now looks really stupid.
