    California

I am trying to find a town near Frisco where I can get an apartment for a month, and have public transport into San Francisco. I want to reduce the cost for an apartment (VRBO) but yet have a 45 minute or less commute to the city. Any ideas? Of course if it were near good LF shooting as well that would be a plus.

Look along the BART lines in the EAST bay. Might find something in Albany, Richmond.

You might try to find an apt to share, or room to rent, right in the city.
Oh, the locals don't call it Frisco.

I live on the East Bay, where we do call it 'Frisco or worse. Might try Alameda. It's a quiet and photogenic town with a Ferry running to Frisco.

Here's an idea. "California"?!? - places to shoot?, good food?, nude beaches? How about a less general and more descriptive title for your thread, that won't sucker everyone into your housing request?

Yeah, "close to BART" is the key phrase. You can even bring bikes on the BART (with restrictions). Of course you can take buses to the BART station but then all your scheduling gets more complicated, best to be within walking distance of a BART station.

I'd qualify it by saying, places to shoot without getting shot. You don't want to around
the lower Richmond or MacArthur BART stations.

ROL-I plan to use VRBO for the actual rental, not looking for a free ride if that is the implication. I was looking for some geographical help as I don't know the City. Thanks for the warning Drew it is one of the reasons I am looking for help!

    Here's your BART map: http://www.bart.gov/stations/index.aspx

Get one of these for BART, Muni (SF bus/lt. rail) and AC Transit (East Bay)

For your needs, maybe just put some cash on it, but there are monthly pass options too. You can do a mix of cash and passes.
