Thread: paper recommendations?

  1. #1

    paper recommendations?

I'm looking for a double-weight or heavier fiber silver-gelatin paper with a surface/tooth like Ektalure G, not glossy, and with a white or warm-white base, but not cream-colored base. Preferably MG/VC. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I think Kentmere Kentona might be a candidate, but it's not VC.

I read that there are problems with that paper:

What about Fotokemika Varycon or Fomabrom Variant or Fortezo (which is not VC, but graded)? Any thoughts on those papers? Thanks.

Wow! I guess I'm very lucky to have had no problems with Kentona. I haven't used those other papers.

How about emaks? it is a graded paper, but is neutrally-toned with a slightly warm base and very nice, rich tonality. And its relatively cheap.

If you think you might be interested in Kentona you should post a fresh query about its current status. You might try over at APUG.

Forte is now long out of business, and Fortezo is long out of production.

Check the Foma line...go through the Freestyle catalog and order a few to try.
