That poor photographer looks like he’s being mugged for his Harrison darkcloth.

Now that I see those “Marks of Cain” – I’m convinced.

Be careful if you take it into the city!

Er, the shot in the OP is from Greg Miller's blog entry on Ash Wednesday, so they probably gave up mugging for Lent. +:-)

thank you Gem, it would have been so comfortable to get one while in NYC, cheaper too.

Lots of darkcloth options out there.

Purchase one. Make one. Improvise one. Do w/o one.

The forum threads are endless – and endlessly fun to read…

The ones w/ photos are the best!

Greiner Photo in Germany carries them, too. While the price is substantially higher than in the US, it might not be worth ordering from BH as you'll need to add shipping cost, import taxes (Einfuhrumsatzsteuer), duties (Einfuhrzoelle), and handling costs. You're right, it would have been cheaper to purchase while in NYC.

    Cheers,

You can order directly off of the Camera Essentials website.

    They ship internationally.

Just make sure you order the proper size dark cloth for your camera.
What's the proper size for 8x10? Medium or large?

    Cheers!

I used a "medium" for my Canham 8x10. It just fit.

Sold the camera. The dark cloth is still sitting in my photo closet.
