The repair bill for my Minolta 4f may be high enough that it is not worth repairing.
I am contemplating the Sekonic 308s as a walk around meter to replace it, at 60 dollars cheaper than any other supplier is:

But for some reason I am really hesitant to pull the trigger with this seller.

Is there a market for counterfeit Sekonics?
Has anyone bought from these guys?

There's no way of knowing where the seller's stock comes from. You'd hope it was legit.

That said I use the meter you're thinking about. I've had one for about 4 years and love it.

Allen,
The seller has a ton of positive feedbacks and I really doubt that they would send you a bogus light meter. The Chinese dealers really go the extra kilometer(for you metric guys) and depend on good relations with their buyers.

I bought a cell phone from a dealer in Hong Kong and it arrived doa. They were very responsive and made it right return shipping refunded also. I was very pleased overall but YMMV.

If it is a good deal, go for it.

I will let you know David, I normally buy as much as possible from my local shop, but at 90 less than my shop and 60 less than B+H.....90 bucks is a lot of film to burn!

The price has come back down, to $178. Strike now.
He seems to have sold several in a short time, jacked the price, then sales stopped, and he has lowered it and sold 2 more since.

The meter arrived, after using it for a few days it feels much more "plasticy' than my old Minolta 4f. But is small, light and seems to work perfectly. I stashed in my coat pocket and don't even notice it is there, that could not be said for my 4f which while feeling more solid, was heavier and larger.
