What are some of the differences between the 7890 and the 7900? Are the cutters the same? Does paper load differently? Do they both have the anti-clogging, anti ink heads like in my r3000?
I'm trying to figure out if the cheaper unit will work for me.

I have the 7890. As far as I know the main difference is that the 7890 has 9 inks (swappable matte black and photo black) while the 7900 has 11 inks (by adding orange and green to the available ink slots.)
I got mine because it matched my exisiting 4880 printer and didn't have any advantage for printing in Black & White, which all my work is done in.Originally Posted by SeanEsopenko
Is the trimmer separate from the print head? The x900's trimmer is separate from the head so that may be one differentiation. My wife and I are considering a 24 or 44 inch printer for her framing shop with the auxiliary advantage of being able to print my own work. If we wind up getting the 44 inch the x890 isn't much of a price difference to some from the x900 but $1000 buys a lot of other stuff for her shop too.
For my own work I think I have a hard time justifying the extra cost of the x900 but for my wife's shop the extra, supposed durability of the x900 might be worth while. It's just really hard to find out the differences beyond the number of ink tanks.
