I also use the light from my condensor enlarger to contact print by, this might help in getting a bit more sharpness with a collimated beam of light, rather than a more diffused light source.

By the way, your portraits are wonderful, good work.

PS- Since you rate the paper negatives at around ISO3, why not try Harman Direct Positive Paper and dispense with the contact printing altogether.
Thanks, JoeV. Your video on preflashing was helpful too. I can use my enlarger for that purpose, but your detailed presentation got me off my butt and started.

I tried a 3/8" glass cover, but not oversized as you suggest. I'll call my glass shop this morning and get a heavier piece. (And I have ordered a pack of Harmon direct positive too.)

    thanks for the reply emil!

    i'm in hungary..
I contacted the local ilford guys and asked around in shops where you can get other brands too, but they said, this size was discontinued and that's it.
But if you have a source, it would be real nice!

This aside, I like shooting on paper a lot! I just did a few pics on fomabrom, and they look beautiful indeed!

    Second Reply to JoeV:

I repeated the contact sheet with a 1/2" thick, 14" square plate to press the papers together better. I also placed them on top of the firm foam base from my Seal 110 dry mount press. Now I'm getting a good contact sheet on the FB paper. Next time I'll also try switching to the condenser enlarger head to see if that gives any additional sharpening. Thanks for the ideas.
