Motorcycle saddle bag at a show at Owls Head Transportation Museum this summer. 4x5 speed graphic and 9" Gundlach Hyperion soft focus lens. tmy2 tmax 400 film in pyrocat hdc. It was a sunny day and I knew the brightwork would glow nicely as soon as it went the tiniest bit out of focus.

Beautiful! Glad someone's out using this stuff. I feel like I've dropped the ball somewhat.

JP, my wife's family is from Liberty, ME, and we go to the Owl's Head museum every summer. Wonderful place.

Here's a Hardley-Davidson at the Old Kingsbury Aerodrome in Kingsbury, TX. I kinda wish I'd opened up the aperture a bit for a little shallower focus.

I like to visit Liberty; used to have to do that regularly for work.

Lots of possibilities in that scene Mike! I'd some wagon wheel + rusty wall abstracts, maybe by them self and as a background to the American flag. I bet that's an interesting place.

I have a thing for original Harleys at the moment (thanks to the Discovery Channel's "Harley and The Davidsons" - excellent dramatisation of the foundings of the company), so, of course this one is going to appeal to me!

I agree with your own evaluation of your photo. It would be nice with a shallow DOF, as the bike is getting lost in the background. I'd still be happy if that photo was mine, though.

    Cheers

Hardley-Davidson, huh? Harley-Davidson? There's got to be a historical detail in the difference.

More from Al's Motor Garage at the Kingsbury Aerodrome, this time cropped to 2:1 due to vignetting from not checking the corners. Must remember that the 75mm f/8 SA only has a little wiggle room.
