    Platine Fibre Rag Question

Hey guys, concerning the Canson Platine Fibre Rag I've been hearing about, would I use my Matt or Glossy black ink cartridge in my Epson 4800 with this paper, and is the 310 the weight I want?

    Thanks.......Chris

I use Glossy black in on my Epson 2400. The box says that the paper is 310 g/m2.

Chris, thanks for asking, I was wondering the same. Its good to know I won't have to change the black cartridge on my epson 7600 with Imageprint. This paper sounds too good!

Also try the Canson Photographique Baryta or however it's spelled. Very smooth, Platine has just a touch of texture. I use both

The baryta paper really looks like air dried glossy silver paper to me.

    Both Papers use photo black.

Thanks Bob, how does its gloss compare to the Harman FB-AI, assuming you have used that too

    Re: Platine Fibre Rag Question

I have used the Harmon paper since it's release. The Canson is, in my opinion, superior. Harmon had a touch of a RC look, the canson does not. It doesn't bronze at all on my 3880.

The baryta surface has virtually no pebble surface vs. Platine which does have a small amount.

I completely agree. IMHO Plantine is a better paper than the Harmon.
    Thanks,

And....as some have pointed out this belongs in a digital sub-forum.
    Thanks,

    Re: Platine Fibre Rag Question

Platine is a cotton rag with no oba's, museum quality standard.

Baryta is a wood fibre paper like ilford gold silk.
