North or South Carolina - Kudzu quest

Ok so I googled China Grove and then went to the Satelitte photos.. Anyone know Tuckertown North Carolina.. looks like a great location, lots of green surround some jumping cliffs. PLEASE NO JOKES ABOUT JUMPING MY NORTHERN ASS OFF THESE CLIFFS.. there is a little video of kids jumping if you google tuckertown jumping cliffs, looks like fun if I was thirty years younger.
Close to motels and places to eat.

I would not recommend jumping off cliffs into kudzo in August. You could wind up with ticks all over your ass, and other nether regions as well.

Look for restaurants with a full bar and close proximity to a hospital/clinic nearby.
My job has had me all over eastern TN in recent weeks. From Bristol to Chattanooga, kudzu isn't hard to find. Let me know if I can be of any help if you find yourself on my side of the Carolinas.

I'm in Charlotte a lot, and may be able to dig up a few places...

As a new transplant to NC, I am fascinated by the kudzu in the same way that people can't take their eyes from a slow-moving train wreck.

I'm much more interested in the tobacco barns all over the state. They're just about all falling apart these days, and some are covered with kudzu.

I can ask around about the mother of all kudzu in that area and see what people say... I may be able to meet up with you for a while as well, depending on the days.

Bob, Good luck on your quest. After finding the all consuming kudzu in it's active summer growing season you must return in the winter when it is dormant to see what lies beneath. I shot this barn in September 2008 and then returned in March 2009.

Sandy has been generous enough to take me out to shoot some on this trip .. I think he is going to drive me to a location, drop my sorry ass in the blistering heat, and go to the closest watering hole and have a cool beer and laugh at me while he waits for me to roast.

I find the second picture as interesting as the first.

I am thinking about bringing a Titan pinhole with some colour film for this project , My wife and I love traveling in the States and south east is one of our favourite places to visit. I have never been in August so this will be challenging.
I think when we have some time we are going to make this weed our next combined project.
