Corran, You had great light compared to when I have visited. Morning light is usually too harsh and the stones very reflective or affected by the tree shadows. Late day the light comes from the right and usually causes some flare. A nice spring overcast day is my next planned trip there since the trees will have leaves then. The creek itself is interesting if you travel toward the Chattahoochee, but there is not really a good trail beyond the ruins. The other side of the bridge is a little known fly fishing spot.

Yeah I am interested in going again when it's a bit warmer. I saw some angles that might be nice in the creek. Today I am exploring far northwest GA (currently waiting on the gates to open at Lula Lake after driving out this morning at 6am ).

I like the subtle colors, almost looks hand painted. I am not much into color photography these days but enjoyed your National Character series. I have been to some of those places or places like them. Well done.

That's why I have no photos from the Valley of the Temples; they wouldn't even allow the tripod in the area.

Bring an old projector stand? It has four legs and is not a tripod?

Funny you should say that, Willie - in the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo a year or two back, I had an interesting discussion with the operators as to whether I needed a tripod ticket to use a monopod...
