Ah, but these days getting close to a scheduled monument with a tripod isn't always easy... thanks for the reminder, though. Somewhere around I have a 35mm shot of the stone circle at Callanish, on the island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. Takes some getting to, but worth it and not bothered by too many tourists, if you pick your day (probably because it's two days from anywhere...)

Is 12th century old enough? This is St Peters, in Berkhamsted, dating from the 12th century, with bits of 14th and 15th century and some major rework in the 19th...
I would like to point out that the camera is level; the church isn't. Those columns on the right are perhaps eight or twelve inches out at the top; those on the left also lean but somewhat less so. I think they need a spirit level.
I do like the flare from the door glass.

Here is a scan of a hand-coated glass plate (or dry plate) negative, 4x5" taken with a Seneca No. 2. I mixed the emulsion myself using a basic silver bromide recipe from the 1890s. It is about ISO 0.5-1 or so. The holes in upper left are where the emulsion came off the plate during development...still working on my coating technique.

Nodda, I like what you are doing. Are you getting your information from The Light Farm?
