What 8x10 bag is this in this video?

    Hi guys,

I was just watching a video on youtube about Alec Soth and at 0:37 he opens a seemingly practical bag.

Does anyone know which one it is?

    Kind regards

    Paul

Hard to tell for sure but as Jan says, it looks like the large, 8x10 f64 backpack. Great backpack, I've been using mine for at least 10 years with everything from 8x10 to digital.

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticize them you'll be
a mile away and you'll have their shoes.

    It is the f64 bag!
I find mine a tad small for the Zone VI 8x10

Yes, f64. It's perfect for the Wehman. I can fit the camera and four holders in the main compartment. In the top, I can fit three Copal 1 lenses (including a 150 SS XL), meter, flashlight, loupe, filters, small digicam, etc. If I need to take more, like a lunch, I attach the side bags, otherwise I leave them at home.

Yes, that's the large F64 backpack. I use it for the Wehman with three holders, three lenses, meter, cable release, filters, notebook, etc.

Could someone with an f64 BPX tell me the internal dimensions of the lower compartment? The info doesn't seem to be listed anywhere, and I need to know if I can get an arca 8x10 in there (need 34 cm W, 40 cm H, 15 cm D).

    ETA: n/m, I did just find the answer on the BH site: 33.02 x 33.02 x 15.24cm

My version is roughly 13.5 wide x 14.5 height x 6.5 deep (all in inches). You could cram something larger in there and it would work, especially on the 6.5 height. I pile the holders on top of the camera, and I can get 5 in there if I want to, but I usually put 3 or 4. Then I stick the BTZS hood in the main outer pocket which provides a degree of cushion if something knocks the outside.

John: thanks. I don't think that will work for the arca with the function carrier attached -- I need more like 15.8 inches for the height. It seems that the BP with a single compartment will work.
