how do I quote without including the picture?

I did read the FAQ and didn't find the answer, but then again I might have missed it.

in various threads I see people commenting on images but their comments don't include the whole image just limited quotes from the original post

when I use the quote function the whole message including image is duplicated

how do you reply in this more limited way?

this is probably one of those "I should have known the answer to that..." questions
    but I don't

    thanks

After you click on "Quote" ... the entire quoted post will appear in your response box ... then just delete the and everything in between and that will delete the image from your response.

    thanks
Frank, just click quote and then edit (delete or add stuff like I did with your quoted post above) in the window that appears. Click preview post to see what your reply will look like. If you want further changes, scroll down from the "preview" box to the "reply to thread" box and edit further...(press preview again to see further changes, etc.)

I will show you how to break up the quote and reply to individual parts...

    Yes.

You need to edit the quote by pasting
or
in the appropriate space...
