hi gandolfiI have actually "collected" cigarette ashes for a while - cups full of it.....
And at one point I considered trying to deduct my cigarette amount on my tax, as "I don't like to smoke, but need the ashes"..... I didn't dare as the tax people doesn't seem to have humor in them...
The licking is fun and quick, BUT also a good way to make the negative damp - not too wet. The ashes binds easier this way...
do you have other negatives you have distressed the traditional ways you have
distressed them? i too love to distress film ( and paper ) and sometimes
i like doing reversible destruction like you have done ... and allows for
a variety of images that all have something different in them ...
the painterly quality of your portrait/s is beautiful.
