To me this just says "classical" as in 'never out of fashion'. A wonderful photograph and tip o' the hat back to photographers in earlier days where the distinction between porn and art was a matter of serious moment. This one would have come down hard on the 'art' side, no doubt in my mind, and therefor been considered respectable and worthy of admiration. I see gentlemen in top hats and Van Dyke beards nodding approvingly while ladies in long gloves holding opera glasses stare holes in the backs of their heads.
