cbk,
Very nice.
IDK -- reminds me a bit of the boards that have a painted figure on them and one sticks one's head thru a hole to be photographed. It is a use of diffusion that will take me awhile to get use to.
If I may jump in...
My problem is with the collar or whatever that is around her neck.
It makes the composition look like a disembodied head floating above a decapitated body.
The fact that the face is sharply focused but the body is out of focus enhances this feeling of separation.
I would prefer to have the collar gone completely, or if included, to be a lighter color and much smaller.
Just one man's opinion, worth what you paid for it.
Pretty model and nice work overall.

If you believe you can, or you believe you can't... you're right.
cbk, I love it. Very creative.
I love it and think the look of the "disembodied head" makes the image.
There is something strange about the proportions also. WHich might be why you get that disembodied feeling. This is one VERY long necked lady. If you remove the cloth around her neck the distance from her shoulder line to her chin is half her face length and she is not tilting her head up. Could be I suppose.
Call me ignorant but unless someone can show how it was done I am calling it PhotoShop. Or darkroom compositing dexterity.
Which is ok, but I'd like to know how it was done.
