    My new favorite bag

Hi. Im so happy that I thought I should share my experiences with you guys.

Ive been pro working with my linhof technikardan for years and always used a Lowepro magnum AW bag (i still love it). I Usually thought that was the only one that suited my camera, and was able to handle 13 film boxes +3 lenses and a lot of other stuff (as usual).

But now Ive seen the light. I got a Billigham 550 with backpack straps mounted to it. Its perfect, I can even bring 1 extra bellow and still have room left for a thermos. Also the massive amount of pockets all around is a blessing.

Anyway I just wanted to recommend it if you need a good solid bag with backpack capabilities for a lf camera. I did however have to sew two inserts together to get a long one for the camera, but that was quickly made.

The only downside I can see is that its probably not so waterproof, but Im thinking of treating it with some greenlandwax...

My Billinghams [I have seven from 550 to stowaway!] are extremely waterproof [rubberised canvas not nytex] the 550 has huge top flap like all of them designed to go over the zippers to keep the water out.
I have used a Packington with my Razzle kit a lot, hadn't thought of using the 550 with Linhof kit [currently in a Lightware case] might just be too heavy!

I just had a wee look at the price of those things just out of curiosity... one company wants £425+vat@17%...for a canvas khaki bag! They're having a laugh right?

good to know. Ill try it in the rain before I do anything... The backpack straps are wicked it you feel its to heavy or if you need to do a small hike.

Packington might be a good ide for the hasselblad...

Yea thats a downside. On the other hand they are made in the UK and not a low price labour country like some other brands. And I think the quality is worth it, so far anyway.
