I had to make an unscheduled visit to see mom. Afterwards, Lisa and I went to the R.W. Norton Gallery. The primary purpose was to view the Ansel Adams prints. However, after walking the entire gallery, all I can say is, "WOW!" I had no idea that a collection of this quality and magnitude existed in Shreveport, LA. Audubon, Bierstadt, Remington, Rodin, Russell, the list goes on. In addition to room after room of paintings and scupture, the collections also include silver, crystal, pressed glass, miniatures, prints, etc. The gardens surrounding the building promise a gorgeous display in the spring.

Oh. The photos. The Adams photos were stunning. Printed much larger than the exhibit I saw in Longview a couple years ago. Old favorites and new photos I hadn't seen in print form. Well worth the trip. Through Dec. 31, 2010.
