Intensive Hands-on Carbon Printing Workshop, Yosemite, April 2011
April 26 to 30, 2011

Returning to the Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite Valley for the third time, I am offering a five-day workshop in the art of Carbon Printing.
The workshop will take place in the Ansel Adams Gallery's newly remodeled workshop facility directly behind the main gallery. The workshop is limited to six participants -- insuring that you will get the most possible out of the experience.
We will cover (and do!) all of the steps of the process, including making the carbon tissue. The students will leave with the knowledge and experience to continue carbon printing at home.
Carbon printing is an extraordinary process, producing work that has unique raised relief (the blacks are thicker than the highlights). It is considered one of the most permanent photographic process.
Yosemite Valley at this time of year is quite beautiful, with the Falls in full force as well as the Dogwood trees. I will have one or two 8x10 cameras participants may use.
