Alex, I find this particular work stunning. I know it may be a personal secret, but can you dissect the lighting for me. I can normally see this lighting in a shot easily, but here the catchlights in the eyes don't seem to agree with the shadow placement.
It *seems* to me that your key is low and camera left of the subject, possibly a second light behind projecting the spot onto the background.
