This thread has been very helpful indeed. I stumbled upon this also in search of other artist who directly manipulate negatives like me. I now know and love Michal Macku and Osheen Harruthoonyan.

I print my destroyed negatives very large on canvas then collage and paint on them from there.

Since this topic has been re-opened, another fun thing (but without stressing ones negatives) is to make a print, bleach it away and then have a bunch of fun bringing back bits and pieces with Dektol on a brush.
