    October portraits

    Halloween month!

    Again, starting with attitude... Marcus feeling like being part of the Gotham project.

    This was a location shoot but of course it had to be in the middle of a forest...not ideal for the logistics of wet plate. Carrying an 8x10 camera, chemistry, glass and a darkroom with you isn't easy

    Here I am setting up my darktent and the rain starts. Getting a plate in between cloud bursts was a challenge. I know I wanted just a touch of swirl so I took the 11.5" Holmes Booth Hayden with me but had to shoot it wide open to get the exposure DOWN to 15 seconds (not easy for the boys when leeches are crawling up their legs).

    This is to be the next CD cover for the band "The Lamplights". A great group of guys and a really fun day.

    8x10 Ambrotype on black glass. KCN fix.
