    Simple Paper Size Question

I'd like to build a simple fixed easel for 20x24 print making. I have a limited space footprint, otherwise I'd make it adjustable.

I don't have 20x24 paper handy yet, so a simple question: are the exact dimensions of 20x24 paper exactly 20x24, or does it vary by type/brand of paper?

Have an adjustable easel to handle smaller sizes.

    Thanks!

The paper's I've always used have been the stated box sizes.

This is also why people have problems fitting paper into sheet film holders as the actual sheet film size is slightly smaller than the equivalent glass plate.

    Re: Simple Paper Size Question

I don't know about large sizes, but in smaller ones I've seen differences between different brands. For example, I've printed on Ilford Multigrade IV RC that was exactly 10x15 cm, while Foma's 10x15 cm paper is actually 10.5x14.8 cm.
On Ilford's site I see that for certain nominal sizes there are several possible actual sizes:

(Look at the actual metric sizes for 4x6" and 3.5x5" papers).

On the other hand, at first glance the larger sizes seem to be consistent.

    Re: Simple Paper Size Question

Well, I guess I should settle on a standard paper to use and size it for that, or make the easel adjustable to a very small degree.

    Thanks!
