    C-41 Tetenal processing

OK, So I'm thinking about moving from B&W developing to C-41 in my basement. Been looking at the Tetenal C-41 press kit 1 L size to start. Just wondering how many 4x5 negs will this kit do in a Jobo 3010 expert drum before the chemicals are spent?

    Thanks

Assuming that you have at minimum a CPA-2 processor to maintain the temperature. The kit says that you can process up to 12-16 rolls of 35mm film per liter which would translate to 48-64 4x5 sheets per liter. I have never used this kit, but I would have to assume that you have to reuse the chemistry to get full use of the kit.

From my experience, reusing c-41 chemistry can be problematic at best.

You can obviously do what you want, but if it were me, I would get my self the Fuji-Hunt chemicals from http://www.minilab.com/index.asp.

I have used these folks for the Fuji-Hunt C-41 and RA-4 chemicals and have been very happy with both.

The initial investment in the chemicals can be a little on the high side, but the results are outstanding and the color very consistent. I also prefer the separate bleach and fixer of the Fuji_hunt C-41.

I tried the Tetenal kits a couple years ago. Did not like the results as negs required odd filtration. Switched to Kodak chemistry and was much happier. Haven't tried the Fuji chemistry yet now that Kodak seems hard to get.
