New browser search plugin for LFF

    Hi all,

I've just created a browser search plugin for LFF compatible with Firefox, Google Chrome, and IE (any browser that supports the OpenSearch plugin standard). The plugin performs a site-specific search against LFF via Google, essentially a shortcut for the search:

    site:largeformatphotography.info my obscure search
The plugin is available via the Mycroft Project's repository of search plugins, here:

    http://mycroft.mozdev.org/search-eng...matphotography

    Enjoy!

    Excellent !

Works great on Firefox on Mac. Another good reason to stick with Firefox and its world of plugins and add-ons.

On Chrome (because there is no separate search tool) you have to type a keyword before your search terms. You define your own. (I find this annoying and have always preferred a separate search tool - so I'll never be a Chrome devotee - their whole game is to get you to use Google and drive revenue).

Very sweet. That should be a sticky somewhere. Perhaps a button.

I like the icon in the search bar.

Just a question before I install this...

Is this significantly different from simply hitting the "search this site" button on my Google toolbar? If not, I'll probably just stick with that. If there is an advantage, I'd love to hear about it.

    TIA

    Hi cosmicexplosion,

To eliminate the obvious: are you sure that you clicked that link from Firefox and not from Safari? If so, what version of Firefox and OS X are you running? (For Firefox's verision, go to the "Firefox" menu, choose "About Firefox". For the OS X version, go to the Apple menu, choose "About This Mac".)
