House Calls with my Camera in current View Camera

    Hi Folks

My good friend Dr Mark Nowaczynski is in the current View Camera Magazine , his work is all large format Black & White and he has been on this project for over 10 years.
I am so pleased he is receiving recognition south of the border.

All images are shot with a Linhoff 4x5 Camera , HP5 in Pyro*hutchings formula* and he uses a mixture of natural light, strobe and believe it or not lots of flash bulbs. All prints are Ilford Warmtone with a slight selenium tone. Print sizes range from 11x14 right up to 30x40, printed here in Toronto by yours truly.

Currently his work is hanging in the ROM here in Toronto and hopefully when the show comes down we can move the work to other centers.

For those who know Mark he is a wonderful man , thats why he was a co-best man at my wedding to Laura. His work is so deserving and is really making a social change in the medical community here in Ontario.
Its great to see such a deserving project gracing the pages of View Camera with other wonderful artists.

How long is it running in the ROM? Any chance of a showing in Ottawa?

Runs until mid October. The ROM has indicated this will be a traveling show within Ontario , so my gut tells me it will show in Ottawa at some time in the future.

I have seen some of the good doctor's photos, they are beautiful prints (by Mr Carnie) of wonderful photographs. I'll have to stop by B&N after work tomorrow.

Popped by the ROM today just to see this. Well worth it. Intriguing, sensitve, thoughtful if somewhat depressing work (especially if you're edging closer to that age group!) beautifully seen and beautifully printed. Props to Mark and Bob.
When I was 16 I thought my father the stupidest man in the world; when I reached 21, I was astounded by how much he had learned in just 5 years!
