Beautiful. With these giant cameras and lenses the problem facing the photog is much different and in our day unique. Where to put the knife edge thin area of sharp focus. This would have been my choice also. I think you nailed it. This picture is impossible to capture with modern machinery.

My oh my oh my. In my mind's eye I see this as an 11x14 contact print and it makes my hands tremble and my nose twitch. Just knock-down dead gorgeous wonderful!

I wanted some hard lighting but this is probably a little too hard on the one side. Regardless, I'm happy with what comes out of the 15" Kodak Portrait lens, sharp as can be...but a little slow indoors at f5. I didn't want to have her sitting for longer than 12 seconds so I'm a little under (maybe half a stop of what I would like).

    8x10 Ambrotype on black glass. 12 secs @ f5 (with a homemade headbrace )

    Awsome Image!

Beautiful! It makes me think about all those old photographers for whom 11x14 was their standard format; the challenges they faced in making each and every image, and the beautiful work they produced. You're part of a wonderful history. Congratulations!
