Petzval lens focus position?

Just picked up a #2 Darlot which I plan to try out this weekend. With the lens focusing knob, does it matter where I set the focus on the lens?

For example do I leave it at infinity and focus with the bellows or do I put the focus half way and focus with the bellows and so on. Any comments would be appreciated.

The focus on the barrel does the same thing as your bellows. It just moves the lens in relation to your ground glass........as your bellows also does. Either will work nicely.
